# Erling Haaland makes telling Man City admission after Palace win

**Erling Haaland believes [City](https://readmancity.com/) are still finding their feet under Enzo Maresca despite making a perfect start to the new Premier League season.**

City followed their opening victory over Bournemouth with an impressive 4-1 win at Crystal Palace on Friday night, with Haaland and Rayan Cherki both scoring twice at Selhurst Park.

But the Norwegian believes there is more to come as the players adapt to Maresca’s methods.

## Haaland says City must trust Maresca

“We have to keep on playing together and find out where we are best and how to play,” Haaland told City’s official website.

“We have so many good players, and we have to fit everyone in.”

City have undergone significant change this summer, not least in the dugout, and Haaland acknowledged that adjusting to a new manager will take time.

“We know what to do and need to trust the system and trust Enzo in what he wants us to do,” he said.

There were encouraging signs at Palace.

After a difficult opening few minutes, City increasingly took control before Haaland opened the scoring after 17 minutes.

Cherki struck twice after the break, and Haaland completed the scoring five minutes from time.

The striker also singled out summer signing Elliot Anderson for praise and believes the performance represented progress.

“It’s a right step in the right direction from everyone,” he said. “Elliot was incredible. We have to build on this.”

Haaland nevertheless believes City will need a little time before reaching their best.

“We’ll be back, we just need a few games,” he added.

Six points from six gives Maresca a useful platform while his players continue adjusting to what their new manager wants from them.
