# Man City transfer news: Josko Gvardiol, Federico Valverde and Florentino Perez’s reveal

## Man City could make an offer for Federico Valverde

According to [Ekrem Konur](https://x.com/Ekremkonur/status/2062534845494948055), Man City are readying a bid for Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde, with the Uruguayan considered a ‘top target’.

The Citizens would be willing to invest roughly £78m, which is a smaller amount than Forest are demanding for Anderson.

It is not known how much Real Madrid will demand for the 27-year-old, but he has a release clause upwards of £800m, and three years remaining on his contract.

## Josko Gvardiol wants to leave Man City

According to [as.com](https://as.com/futbol/primera/gvardiol-sigue-siendo-una-opcion-f202606-n/), Gvardiol has offered himself to Real Madrid, and should Florentino Perez be re-elected as club president, the defender would become a potential transfer target.

Gvardiol’s desire to depart Man City is said to be because of Pep Guardiola’s exit – the man who insisted on signing him in the first place.

While the 24-year-old only has two years remaining on his contract, the Citizens are unwilling to make a loss.

Therefore, they will look to recoup at least the £77.6m it cost to bring the star to the Etihad Stadium three years ago.

## Florentino Perez is planning a £130m signing

According to [Fabrizio Romano](https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/2062648356262781283), current Los Blancos president Perez is looking to spend £130m on an unknown player.

When asked about members of the Man City squad, he said: “The official €150m bid will not be for Erling Haaland.”

He added: “Jeremy Doku? No. The €150m bid won’t be for him.”

Perez later confirmed this would be a Cristiano Ronaldo or Kaka level attacking player, who does not currently play in the Premier League.

## Real Madrid’s Rodri links continue

While Perez is obviously not referring to Rodri, he is the most likely of Man City’s players to join Real Madrid this summer.

[City have no plans to sell Rodri](https://readmancity.com/2026/06/04/man-city-set-rodri-stance-amid-real-madrid-interest/), but the Spaniard himself has [not ruled out an exit](https://readmancity.com/2026/06/02/rodri-addresses-man-city-exit-rumours-ahead-of-world-cup/) from the club this summer.

With only 12 months remaining on his contract, the 29-year-old would be well placed to force his departure, and Real Madrid are the club who keep being mentioned as his next move.
