## Neil Warnock praises Vincent Kompany for avoiding Man City job

Managing a club of Man City’s size is a great honour, and Neil Warnock believes Maresca is lucky to be considered for the role.

Despite this, being as successful as Pep Guardiola will be extremely difficult, which is why Warnock thinks Kompany has made the right choice not to go for it.

> Neil Warnock reveals Vincent Kompany didn't want to follow in Pep Guardiola's footsteps right away as stepping in as his direct successor is just too big a job! 👀 🔵[#MCFC](https://twitter.com/hashtag/MCFC?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [#ManCity](https://twitter.com/hashtag/ManCity?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [#PepGuardiola](https://twitter.com/hashtag/PepGuardiola?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [#VincentKompany](https://twitter.com/hashtag/VincentKompany?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [pic.twitter.com/L3Ng23232N](https://t.co/L3Ng23232N)

“I think Vincent Kompany hit the nail on the head when they asked him about it,” he told [talkSPORT](https://x.com/talkSPORT/status/2056767639184105619).

“You don’t want to follow Pep, you want to follow somebody else that’s followed Pep.”

## Man City launch new home kit

Our take on it: On a positive note, Puma tried to do something different without it looking completely forced. Unfortunately, the result is a baby blue shirt which looks like it has been through the washing machine too many times, resulting in severe colour loss.

## Erling Haaland wants to use Premier League failure as motivation

Pep Guardiola’s players were visibly disappointed and subdued after the game on Tuesday night, but Erling Haaland had a different look.

There was clear anger and frustration mixed with his own disappointment, and he is aiming to use this to come back stronger next season.

Haaland told [City Studios](https://www.mancity.com/citytv/mens/haaland-post-bournemouth-citytv-reaction-pl-19-may-63914792): “In the end, every game in the Premier League is difficult. We tried. It wasn’t enough.

“The whole club should use this as motivation now. We should be angry, we should feel a fire inside our belly because it’s not good enough.

“It’s gone two years now, it feels like forever. We’re going to do everything we can, everyone that will be here next season, to win the league.”

## Pep Guardiola blames fatigue for Man City’s draw against Bournemouth

It was clear that Pep Guardiola’s team were off the pace on Tuesday night, and he has put this down to the lack of preparation time his team were afforded.

Since Bournemouth played Fulham on May 9, City fulfilled three fixtures before taking them on at the Vitality.

Guardiola told [Sky Sports](https://x.com/SkySportsPL/status/2056841881825263854?s=20): “Tough game, we knew it. We missed a little bit of energy, that is normal.

“They had 12 days to prepare that game, a team that plays with this energy, and the players up front. But we had three days, three days, three days, travels, but we fought.

“First half was really good, second half we started really good, and after the substitutions didn’t make the impact that we needed, and they had chances. At the end, we found a goal, but it was too late.”
