Manchester City star Leroy Sane has been drawing praise after the youngster continued his good form in the Premier League.
In seven matches so far this season the German international has scored six goals, also notching six assists – becoming one of Manchester City’s most inform players.
Nominated for November’s Player of the Month award with the joint highest number of goals for that month with the second most assists, the winger has been impressive when he has been called upon.
Playing a starring role in the Sky Blues’ 2-1 victory against Watford, Sane has earned rave reviews, and his performance led to former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock praising the youngster as reported by Sky Sports:
Leroy Sane is the closest thing we’ve seen to Ryan Giggs in years. His ability to glide past players makes it look effortless.
But what I like about the two wingers is when the ball’s on the opposite side as we saw last night with Sane’s goal and with Mahrez’s goal later on is that they become a second striker when the ball’s on the opposite side of the pitch and it’s something that Pep’s making sure that they do.
Despite winning the PFA Young Player of the Year (as well as being named Manchester City’s Young Player of the Year), Sane has found first-team opportunities hard to come by.
The former Coventry City defender continued to praise the 22-year-old comparing the youngster to the iconic players of yesteryear:
But I love the old winger, the old style winger. You look back in years gone by when you had the Arsenal team. You’ve got the likes of Overmars and Pires who were the outstanding players in their team.
Sane will hope to continue his good form as City take on title rivals Chelsea.
