Shamrock Rovers have denied any knowledge of claims that the player has agreed to join Manchester City.
Pictures and reports emerged on Wednesday that seemed to suggest City had won the race to sign the 16-year-old, beating the likes of Brighton, Celtic and Liverpool to his signature.
The player was pictured alongside Manchester City academy director Jason Wilcox recently, which suggested the player was on his way to the Premier League champions.
The Premier League champions were also believed to have paid a sizeable fee for the 16-year-old, who has impressed after breaking through in Ireland.
With the player likely to remain in Ireland this season, the deal could still go through in the near future.
