# Kompany out for up to six weeks with a knee injury

**Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has been ruled out for four to six weeks witha knee injury, Pep Guardiola confirmed in his pre-match conference ahead City’s game against Burnley on the weekend.**

Vincent Kompany, who has been riddled with injury for the last year, will not play again until Manchester City’s trip to Hull on boxing day.

The 27-year-old picked up the knee injury in Manchester City’s 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park last-week.

Manager Pep Guardiola has already suggested that he will replace Kompany with right-back Barcary Sagna or he will drop Fernadihno in centre-back.

However, Kompany visited a specialist in Spain this week, Guardiola said in his weekly press-conferenece ahead of the City’s visit to Turf Moor: “They confirmed what our doctor said. It’s a knee ligament. He will be out for four to six weeks.”

This injury could cause Guardiola to go in the January transfer window for another centre-half if Kompany was to get injured again.
