Player Ratings: Stoke 1-4 Manchester City

Pep Guardiola busted the myth of Stoke City away, in fact, he smashed it. It was wet and windy in The Potteries but City looked in control throughout.

Busting down on contact in the box from corners and set pieces, Mike Dean called for two soft(ish) penalties, the first one being in favour of Guardiola’s side. Aguero confidently stood up to take it, after missing two in midweek and dispatched with ease past former City keeper, Shay Given.

The Argentine made it two with a neat header from Kevin de Bruyne’s cross just ten minutes before half-time. Then, just moments after the break, Stoke were awarded a penalty for a Raheem Sterling foul, again from a corner. Bojan finished, bringing the home side back in the game.

Kelechi Iheanacho and Nolito made the difference towards the end of the game combining for two killing goals, both of which the Spaniard grabbed. It was probably a more flattering result than City deserved but most importantly, 3 points were won.

Here’s how I rated the players from today’s win.
