If City players were Pokemon

Pokemon Go, a smartphone application which allows users to ‘see’ Pokemon in the real world and interact with them, has swept the globe, and people of all generations are going mad for it.

The virtual reality game lets people catch Pokemon, train them, and battle them against others in order to, as the song goes ‘be the very best, like no-one ever was’.

Manchester City have gotten in on the act, with the Etihad Stadium being an in-game Pokemon Gym, where trainers (users of the app) can battle for bragging rights!

With this craze looking like it won’t be slowing down anytime soon, we’ve decided to have a bit of fun and work out which Pokemon certain Manchester City players would be. These likenesses have been done on personality and traits of the players and the respective Pokemon.

For your convenience, we’ve only used Pokemon from Generation 1 – these original Pokemon are certainly the most universally recognised!
