# Smith-Brown wanted by five clubs

Manchester City right-back Ashley Smith-Brown is being targeted by five different clubs as he prepares for a season on loan away from the club, according to the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3682195/Newcastle-United-make-4million-bid-Blackburn-defender-Grant-Hanley-Rafael-Benitez-waves-goodbye-Papiss-Cisse.html).

City’s Dutch partners, NAC Breda, are on the list of potential suitors alongside English quartet Brighton, Brentford, Wigan, and Bolton.

Smith-Brown was courted by Barcelona at the age of 16 but has since struggled for first-team appearances at the Etihad Stadium.

The 20-year-old is yet to feature for the senior team but new manager Pep Guardiola was ready to give the Englishman a chance to prove his worth in pre-season.

However, it appears that the next season of Smith-Brown career may be spent away from the club as he looks to show that he can compete with Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna for first-team spots.

The England U20 international is highly rated amongst English clubs and could be touted for a permanent move next summer.
