# Dortmund remain firm on City target Aubameyang

Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund have refused to sell star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for less than their £65m asking price, according to [Manchester Evening News](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aubameyang-man-city-transfer-standoff-11491786?).

After scoring 25 goals in 29 Bundesliga appearances last season, Aubameyang has attracted interest from some of Europe’s top clubs.

The Gabon international has been a target for Manchester City in recent weeks and reports emerged that the clubs were in ‘advanced talks’ over a deal which would see Aubameyang move to the Etihad.

However, City are reluctant to break their transfer record for a second consecutive summer after paying £55m for Kevin De Bruyne from Wolfsburg.

A deal worth £65m would also break the British transfer record, which is currently held by Angel Di Maria’s £59.9m move from Real Madrid to Manchester United.

New City boss Pep Guardiola sees Aubameyang as a replacement for Wilfried Bony, who expected to be axed this summer after a torrid 18 months with the Sky Blues.

German wonderkid Leroy Sane has also been touted as a possible alternative.
