Five City players who would fit into WWE

WWE and football don’t have the biggest connection. Wayne Rooney hit the headlines when he slapped WWE wrestler Wade Barrett in November at a live show but the two worlds don’t exactly go hand in hand, even if Vinnie Jones, former Wimbledon and Leeds player, has stepped into a wrestling ring back in the day.

Former Port Vale goalkeeper Stuart Tomlinson has swapped goalposts for ropes and is now in the WWE developmental system as ‘Hugo Knox’.

But is there a connection between Manchester City and wrestling? Well yes, there is. Celebrity City fan Noel Gallagher watches it with his kids and he’s not the only one to have an involvement with WWE.

Big blue Ricky Hatton has wrestled a match for WWE as part of their UK tour and even came out to the ‘Blue Moon’ anthem.

Anyway, Wrestlemania, the big event in the wrestling calendar is a matter of days away and we’ve decided to pick five City players who would fit in the WWE.
