Player Ratings: Manchester City 4-0 Aston Villa

Manchester City got back to winning ways, scoring four goals in the space of sixteen minutes to see off bottom of the table Aston Villa at the Etihad.

Goals from Sergio Aguero (2), Yaya Toure and Raheem Sterling sealed the points and with Arsenal and Spurs drawing a blank at lunchtime, City can take positives from today’s proceedings.

City, on the whole, dominated the game and, despite missing a host of chances in the first half, made their opportunities to score count in the second half.

City travel to Norwich next Saturday where they face the Canaries who are in relegation form picking up one point from the last twenty-seven available.

Though this win was against the league’s worst side, there were are a number of encouraging performances from those in sky blue as City had more solidity at the back and more fluency going forward.
