Roberts expected to leave on loan this month
Manchester City midfielder Patrick Roberts is set for a loan stint away from the club in order to gain more experience, according to the Daily Express.
The 18-year-old has managed just three first-team appearances since arriving from Fulham in an £8m deal last summer.
Although admitting that his lack of appearances have mainly been down to injury, manager Manuel Pellegrini confirmed that the England youth international’s immediate future would be discussed in the coming days.
The Chilean has Roberts’ best interests in mind and will decide whether it will be more beneficial for him to remain as a part of the squad for the rest of the season or spend the next few months out on loan.
Now we are going to talk about his future. It was important for him to work the first part of the season here with the squad. We will see what is the best future for him in the second part.
It is likely that any move would see Roberts return to the Championship, rather than join a fellow Premier League side.
