After penning a new 3-year contract extension at Manchester City, 18-year-old Pablo Maffeo has gone out on loan to Spanish side Girona until the end of the season.

Returning back to his home nation, the young right-back looks towards Girona to provide him with some much-needed, top-level playing experience.

After passing his medical earlier today, Maffeo will be called upon to train as soon as this afternoon, and then on Friday, he will officially presented as Girona’s second January window signing.

Signing for City at just the age of 15, Pablo has made appearances for his national under 16 and 17 sides and until now was promisingly being developed in the EDS. Maffeo, one of City’s greatest youth prospects, is a fast, explosive right-hand sided player who loves to gallivant in attack.

With those occupying his desired position in the first team ageing, one day we may see the return of Pablo Maffeo, and hopefully, after this new loan deal, the Spaniard will come back even stronger than before.
