Turgid stuff at the Etihad as Manchester City ran out 2-1 winners in a game that ended frantically and saw two goals scored right at the death. It was a struggle for the Citizens but a victory of champion-like quality, where the points mattered and the performance didn’t in large parts. Questions can still be asked about their defensive capabilities as yet another game ends without a clean sheet. 2 in 20 isn’t a stat that reads well for the Manchester club.
