Player Ratings: Manchester City 5-1 Crystal Palace

Comfortable, controlled and enjoyable. Lovely to see the youngsters amongst the goals. Hull at home in the next round is a very kind draw. Bring on Norwich on Saturday.

Manchester City Player Ratings:

Willy Caballero: Saved well at the feet of Bolasie and then Jedinak in the first half. Good save on around 60 minutes to deny Zaha. Flapped at a few high balls: 6.5

Pablo Zabaleta: Had a nasty clash of heads with Bolasie but got on with it and was his industrious self from there on in until he picked up a second injury early into the second half and was withdrawn on a stretcher for Sagna: 6.

Eliaquim Mangala: Had quite a physical tussle with Patrick Bamford but won most of his duels with ease. Passed well into the channels and won the penalty well. Starting to look really accomplished: 7.

Martin Demichelis: Was steady and didn’t have much to do in the first half or the second for that matter: 6.

Aleksandar Kolarov: Nice corner for our first but had a difficult time of it against Zaha – otherwise solid: 6.

Fernando: Did as he was told, protected the back-four well and spread play nicely: 6.

Yaya Touré: Was in cruise control for the first half. Dispatched the penalty nicely: 6.

Jesus Navas: Had a few chances but was again hesitant. Better second half, ran with more directness and vigour: 6.5

Kevin de Bruyne: Spurned an early chance but then was there to tap in our second and set up our third. His stats are becoming impressive now: 7.

Wilfried Bony: Lovely header for our first. Still misses a fair few chances. Starting to rack up his goal tally: 6.5

Kelechi Iheanacho: Brilliant assist for de Bruyne’s goal which showcased vision and unselfishness. Excellent instinctive finish for our third and a nice assist for the fifth. Looks at ease around the first team: 8.

SUBS:

Bacary Sagna: A lot came through him down the flank, added more than Zabaleta and showed why he’s first pick nowadays: 6.

Patrick Roberts: Didn’t add much: N/A

Manu Garcia: Lovely finish!: N/A
