Enzo Fernández to Man City ‘done’ in €130m deal as major claim emerges

City have reportedly agreed a €130m deal with Chelsea to sign Enzo Fernández, with one source claiming the blockbuster transfer is now done.

Italian transfer journalist Nicolò Schira reports that Fernández’s move to City has been agreed and that the Argentina international will sign a contract running until 2032.

Schira describes the transfer as a “done deal”.

That claim has not yet been confirmed by either club, while Sky Sports’ latest reporting says talks remain ongoing.

However, there are growing indications that negotiations have moved significantly during the final hours of the window.

Matteo Moretto has reported intensive talks between City and Chelsea over a deal worth around €135m, with Fernández having already given his approval to the move.

Fernández deal appears to be moving quickly

Chelsea’s own transfer activity could be crucial.

Sky in Italy reports that the Blues are close to an agreement with Roma for Manu Koné, with a fee of around £52m being discussed.

Crucially, Koné is being lined up as Fernández’s replacement.

City opened direct club-to-club talks with Chelsea on Monday after spending much of the summer considering a move for the World Cup winner.

Fernández has long been identified as a major midfield target following the departures of Rodri, Nico González, Tijjani Reijnders and Bernardo Silva.

Schira’s latest claim is therefore a significant development.

But until there is confirmation from either the clubs or other leading sources that a full agreement has been reached, some caution is still required.

What does appear increasingly clear is that the two clubs are working towards a huge Deadline Day transfer.

If Schira’s information is correct, they may now have found their agreement.
