City are reportedly stepping up their pursuit of Iliman Ndiaye, with an £80m offer for the Everton forward now under consideration.
City’s interest in Ndiaye emerged earlier this week, with Fabrizio Romano subsequently reporting that they were working on a possible deal.
TEAMtalk now claims City have discussed Ndiaye internally and spoken to intermediaries as they weigh up an £80m offer.
Romano has also provided a further update, reporting that City are working hard on the deal and that negotiations are ongoing.
No formal offer has yet been reported.
City push on with Ndiaye interest
The latest reports move the story on from City’s initial interest in the 26-year-old.
The Guardian has reported that Everton value Ndiaye at around £80m, while The Times says City are ready to test the Toffees’ resolve before the transfer window closes.
Ndiaye is under contract at Everton until 2029 and has become an important player under David Moyes, meaning City are unlikely to find an easy deal.
Jack Grealish could also have a part to play.
The England international spent last season on loan at Everton and has been linked with a return, with reports suggesting his situation could form part of the discussions between the two clubs.
For City, though, the focus is Ndiaye.
Interest has been followed by talks and, according to the latest report, consideration of an £80m offer. Whether City are prepared to go that far should become clearer before the deadline.
