Man City could break five more transfer records before deadline day

City could break another five transfer records before the window closes as Enzo Maresca’s squad rebuild enters its final week.

City have already set new benchmarks for both buying and selling this summer.

Elliot Anderson arrived from Nottingham Forest for £116m, eclipsing the £100m paid for Jack Grealish in 2021, while Savio’s move to Tottenham is worth an initial £75m with another £10m available in add-ons.

That makes the Brazilian City’s record sale, surpassing the deal that took Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid.

And there could be plenty more to come.

Five more City records could fall

Manchester Evening News City correspondent Simon Bajkowski says the club could break another five transfer records over the remaining days of the window.

One is already in sight.

City have agreed to pay Lille €95m plus €5m in add-ons for Ayyoub Bouaddi. The 18-year-old is set to become the most expensive teenage signing in Premier League history.

The scale of City’s remaining business means further records are possible.

Enzo Fernandez remains a major target, while further departures could follow as Maresca reshapes a squad that has already changed substantially this summer.

There is no guarantee all five records mentioned by Bajkowski will fall, and much will depend on which deals City can get over the line.

But this has already been an extraordinary window by the club’s standards – and some of its biggest business may still be to come.
