Man City set to complete Tijjani Reijnders transfer to Al Qadsiah

City are set to complete Tijjani Reijnders’ move to Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah, with the clubs expected to exchange the final documents today.

That is according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, who reports that the fee for the Netherlands international has been agreed at €61m.

The deal now appears to be entering its final administrative stages, with the exchange of documents the next step before Reijnders’ departure from Manchester City can be formally completed.

Reijnders only joined City last summer, but his time at the Etihad is now set to come to an end as Al Qadsiah move to secure the midfielder.

The €61m fee represents a significant return for City and gives new manager Enzo Maresca further room to reshape his squad during the summer transfer window.

Reijnders had been expected to play an important role in City’s midfield this season, particularly following the changes made to the squad since Maresca replaced Pep Guardiola.

Instead, his departure will leave City with another midfield decision to make before the transfer window closes.

Romano’s latest update suggests the transfer is now at an advanced stage, with the paperwork between Manchester City and Al Qadsiah expected to be exchanged today.

Unless there is an unexpected issue during the final formalities, Reijnders’ move to Saudi Arabia is therefore close to completion.

For City, attention will now turn to how Maresca responds to the departure — and whether the club decide to reinvest some of the €61m in another midfield option.
