Man City defender Juma Bah linked with Ipswich Town move

City defender Juma Bah has been linked with a move to Ipswich Town as the Championship club looks to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.

Stuart Watson reports that Ipswich remain keen to do further business this summer, with Bah the latest Manchester City player to emerge as a potential target.

The Sierra Leone international joined City earlier this year after establishing himself in European football, and his imposing physical presence has made him an interesting prospect for the Premier League champions.

A move to Ipswich would potentially offer Bah the opportunity to play regular first-team football and continue his development, rather than competing for limited opportunities in City’s senior squad.

Ipswich manager Gary O’Neil and chief executive Mark Ashton have both made it clear that the club intends to remain active in the transfer market, with further additions expected before the window closes.

Bah would represent an interesting option for O’Neil, particularly given the defender’s physical attributes and potential.

There is no indication at this stage that a deal is close, with the link currently representing an opportunity for Ipswich to explore.

For City, however, a potential loan move could be another example of the club’s approach to developing young talent.

Regular senior football away from the Etihad could provide Bah with valuable experience and help accelerate his progression before he potentially returns to compete for a place in Enzo Maresca’s squad.

With Ipswich still looking to add to their squad, Bah’s situation is one for City supporters to keep an eye on as the transfer window moves towards its final weeks.
