Forest eye Man City midfielder Reijnders

Nottingham Forest have held an interest in City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Forest boss Oliver Glasner wants to strengthen his midfield before the transfer window closes. The Mail’s Simon Jones reports that City value Reijnders at £55-60m. The Netherlands international is said to be open to leaving the Etihad.

Juventus and Galatasaray have also been linked with the 28-year-old.

City signed Reijnders from AC Milan for around £46m last year. He went on to make 50 appearances in his first season at the Etihad, scoring seven times, but started fewer games toward the end of the season as City looked to close down Arsenal in the Premier League title race.

New City manager Enzo Maresca now has plenty of other options in a reshaped midfield.

Elliot Anderson joined City from Forest for £116m this summer. Mateo Kovacic has stayed at the club, and City are also expected to complete a move for Ayyoub Bouaddi before the end of the summer transfer window.

No bid for Reijnders has yet been formally reported, though, and he is under contract at City until 2030.
