Guardiola confirms Gabriel Jesus is back in training
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Gabriel Jesus has returned to training after his knee ligament injury.
The Brazilian sustained the injury in December against Crystal Palace and has been on the sidelines ever since.
However, in his press conference ahead of the FA Cup tie against Wigan Athletic, a repeat of the 2013 final, Guardiola confirmed that Jesus had now returned to training.
‘Gabriel Jesus will be in training, I don’t know when he’ll be ready to play but today will be his first training for the team.’
The Brazilian’s return will come too soon for the games against Wigan, however, he is set to return to the pitch sooner rather than later.
Guardiola also admitted that he is weary of Wigan, after watching the Latics beat Bournemouth in the previous round. Goals from Sam Morsy, Dan Burn and Callum Elder dispatched the Cherries 3-0, and gave Wigan another FA Cup game against City.
