Inter Milan interested in January move for Eliaquim Mangala
Inter Milan are reportedly interested in signing out of favour Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala.
It’s claimed by Italian news outlet Tuttosport, as covered by talkSPORT, that Luciano Spalletti’s side want to help end Mangala’s nightmare at the Etihad Stadium by swooping for him in the mid-season transfer window.
Mangala is unlikely to play a bigger role than just a rotational option under Pep Guardiola this season, with the other centre-back options in the squad performing well.
John Stones has stepped up this season, while Nicolas Otamendi has shown signs of improvement. Vincent Kompany, when fit, is of course ahead of Mangala in the defensive pecking order too.
Inter were keen to land Mangala in the summer transfer window, but were unable to strike a deal with City.
However, with the Premier League leaders seemingly keen to get the Frenchman off the books, a January move to the San Siro is certainly not beyond the realms of possibility.
