City keen to sign £45m-rated Joshua Kimmich
Manchester City will battle Barcelona for the signature of Bayern Munich youngster Joshua Kimmich.
According to a report from Sport Bild, both clubs are keeping tabs on the player, but Bayern will demand somewhere in the region of €50 million (£44 million) in any potential deal.
Bayern’s sporting director, Michael Reschke says that any club looking to sign the player would have to pay a lot more than the reported asking price.
Joshua has a much higher transfer value, and I believe that FC Bayern wouldn’t give Jo up even for 50 million euros.
Kimmich rose to prominence at Bayern during Pep Guardiola’s final year at the club after joining from RB Leipzig.
The youngster, who can play as a right-back or in midfield is highly thought of in Germany and widely considered to be one of the country’s best young talents.
Kimmich fell out of favour at Bayern during Carlo Ancelotti’s time with the Bavarian club, which saw rumours about his future at the club intensify.
Barcelona are interested in the player due to his versatility, while they’re also in the market looking to re-shape their defence.
