Manchester City are reportedly close to agreeing a fee with Napoli over the transfer of Pepe Reina.
According to a report from the Telegraph, the Citizens are closing in on the 34-year-old, with Pep Guardiola keen to bolster his goalkeeping options further.
Ederson Moraes has already been recruited this summer from Benfica and while it’s likely that he will be Guardiola’s first choice between the sticks this season, he is not stopping there.
It’s claimed in the report that an initial bid worth £2.6m was rejected by Napoli, with them keen to make £4.4m from the sale of Reina. However, City should have absolutely no problem with reaching an agreement with the Serie A outfit, and an agreement is looking likely.
The move for Reina is in the expectancy that Claudio Bravo will move on this summer, with City willing to listen to offers for the Chilean international, who suffered a nightmare first season in English football.
