According to the Independent, Alexis Sanchez is preparing to stay at Arsenal for another season, with the Gunners holding out for a fee of £90 million from Manchester City.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is braced to keep hold of the Chilean for as long as possible, with rumours spreading that Sanchez could yet stay at the club for another season.

Sanchez is widely believed to be desiring a move to City, with the 28-year-old eager to reunite with former manager Pep Guardiola. He is unwilling to sign a new deal at the Emirates with his current contract running out next year, however Wenger is not willing to let him leave to a Premier League rival.

Bayern Munich were heavily rumoured to be the club that Arsenal would willingly sell Sanchez to in June, but the German club ended negotiations with the Gunners due to the high valuation put on the Chilean.

With Arsenal reluctant about selling their highly-coveted player to another Premier League rival, it would have to be massive fee in order to change Arsene Wenger’s stance and make this deal possible. A fee in the range of £90 million is being touted for Sanchez’s services, which would make him one of the most expensive transfers, just behind the deals of Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba to Manchester United.

Potential replacements for Sanchez includes Thomas Lemar from AS Monaco, who had an electrifying season for the Ligue 1 champions, and was part of the squad that managed to beat City in the last 16 of the Champions League.
