Manchester City have enjoyed a somewhat transitional season under Pep Guardiola, with the Spanish tactician learning the Premier League in his maiden campaign.
There have been plenty of ups and downs for Guardiola’s side, who are currently in the FA Cup semi-final mix but are out of the title race and underwhelmed in this season’s Champions League after being knocked out by Monaco in the round of 16.
However, there are still games left to play and whilst it’s extremely likely that City will be playing Champions League football again next term, Guardiola will want to see his men consolidate their position in the top four and finish second best only to Chelsea.
So, with just ten games remaining in City’s 2016/17 Premier League campaign, how many points can we expect them to pick up and finish on come the end of the season?
We’ve predicted the outcome of their last ten, along with a conclusion of how many points they’ll finish on.
Arsenal (A) - Draw
Although Arsenal have been poor as of late, they’re still a good side and it’ll still be a difficult one.
Chelsea (A) - Loss
Chelsea look unstoppable at the moment and we can only see one outcome here.
Hull (H) - Win
Whilst Marco Silva has rejuvenated this Hull side, it should still be comfortable.
Southampton (A) - Win
Saints will pose a threat to City and there could be goals in this one, but Pep’s men should have enough.
West Brom (A) - Draw
The Hawthorns is an extremely tough hunting ground and we can see a score draw.
Manchester United (H) - Win
In the Manchester Derby, we reckon City will have enough to tactically outwit Jose Mourinho and his United side.
Middlesbrough (A) - Win
Boro are on a downwards slope and there can only be one outcome here.
Crystal Palace (H) - Win
Palace will be fighting for survival like Boro, but it should be a routine win.
Leicester (H) - Win
Leicester are another side rejuvenated but City will have too much quality.
Watford (A) - Win
Watford aren’t a bad side but they’re certainly in bad form, and we can see City comfortably winning this.
Conclusion
So, we can see City picking up an impressive 23 points out of a possible 30 before the end of the season, leaving them on a more than respectable 80.
