Guardiola to put faith in Fabian Delph
Manchester City’s forgotten man, Fabian Delph will get his chance this season with Pep Guardiola deciding to keep him at the club according to the Mirror.
Delph had been a target for West Brom, the Baggies enquired about the availability of the midfielder but he looks set to stay at the Etihad Stadium.
Delph had been linked with a move to West Brom, Leeds and Newcastle in the January transfer window.
The England international has been unable to hold down a place in Manchester City’s starting XI this season but is required as cover for the injured Ilkay Gundogan and Fernandinho, who’s serving a four-match ban.
The former Aston Villa man himself has just returned from injury and is yet to make a start in the Premier League under Guardiola. He has come off the bench twice in the league this season.
It’s yet to be seen where Delph’s long-term future lies but he doesn’t look like he’ll be going anywhere until at least the summer transfer window.
