Samir Nasri flying to Sevilla to complete move
Samir Nasri is set to complete his move to Sevilla according to L’Equipe, with the Frenchman flying to Spain on Tuesday in order to finalise a loan move to Andalusia. The midfielder had looked likely to leave earlier in the summer, before Pep Guardiola told him he could stay after Sunday’s win over West Ham United. Now though, he again looks likely to depart before the transfer deadline.
The 29-year-old returned from the summer overweight, leading to Pep Guardiola making the midfielder train away from the rest of the squad. However, after the 3-1 win against West Ham at the weekend, the Catalonian manager remarked on how well Nasri had worked to regain fitness, and said he could stay if he wanted to.
Despite that, clubs like Besiktas and Sevilla retained interest in the former Arsenal player and it looks like the La Liga side have got their man after negotiating a distribution of wages between City and Sevilla for the year.
It’s also believed that the deal with include an option to make the move permanent at the end of the move. That would represent the end of a six-year spell at City for Nasri, who arrived from Arsenal for £25 million.
In the time since his arrival, Nasri has been an integral part of the squad, winning two league titles and two League Cup medals. He has appeared more than 170 times for the club, but may have made his final one as a substitute against Slaven Bilic’s West Ham.
