Pep Guardiola included 12 of Manchester City’s Elite Development Squad players in his 32-man line-up for the Sky Blues’ pre-season friendlies.

The likes of Brandon Barker, Angelino, and Pablo Maffeo were already afforded chances to shine against Guardiola’s former side, Bayern Munich. However, a number of them were not given the same opportunity, but could be against arch rivals Manchester United on Monday.

Vote for which player you would most like to see in the starting line-up in the first Manchester derby outside of England.

Start again

Tosin Adarabioyo

Rated as City’s 5th best player against Bayern, Adarabioyo can certainly command the defence.

Pablo Maffeo

City fans voted Maffeo as the second best player against Bayern. Do you want to see him start again against United?

Brandon Barker

Didn’t really take his chance against Bayern, do you think that he deserves another shot?

Aleix Garcia

Guardiola is a known admirer of Garcia, but will he give the nod against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United.

James Horsfield

Won’t have been seen by most City fans, but Horsfield has been involved in the club’s last few pre-seasons.

Billy O'Brien

Now that Richard Wright has retired, it’s probably fair to say that O’Brien will contest Angus Gunn to be the third-choice goalkeeper at the Etihad.

Sinan Bytyqi

A short substitute stint against Bayern didn’t really give Bytiqi the opportunity that he had longed for. Should he get it against United?

Manu Garcia

‘The new David Silva’ provides exceptional vision as well as a gravity-defying first touch. Do you want him in the team?

Cameron Humphreys

The young central defender made his Manchester City debut against Real Madrid. Will he appear in another big game?

Angus Gunn

Could do nothing about Bayern’s goal on Wednesday and had little else to trouble him.

Angelino

A stand-out performer against Bayern, winning Man of the Match for his efforts. Should be given the chance to shine (again)?

Bersant Celina

Was involved sporadically last season under Manuel Pellegrini and will hope to be given the chance to impress new boss Guardiola.
