A yearly post-season treat for Manchester City fans across the globe is the interview with the club’s chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak.
This season was no different, with a new era about to commence at the Etihad, City fans were excited to hear what a board member would have to say about last season, but, also what lies ahead.
This year’s interview was one of reflection on Manuel Pellgrini’s spell along with generating the excitement ahead of Pep Guardiola’s arrival in July.
Mubarak was clearly disappointed with City’s performance last season as he felt qualifying for the Champions League and winning the League Cup was not enough for a club of City’s size.
However, he did take some positives with the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho rising through the ranks.
Guardiola’s arrival is something which has generated a lot of excitement in Abu Dhabi as it was revealed he has been someone the club have been hunting for since 2012 and now with Guardiola coming to City, the board have some huge plans in place.
