City striker set for Swansea return
Manchester City are set to cut their losses on out-of-favour frontman Wilfried Bony in the summer transfer window, with his former club Swansea interested in his services.
The Welsh outfit are looking to add to their attacking options this summer, after a lack of goals in the 2015/16 campaign saw them dragged into an unprecedented relegation battle.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Swans are willing to write off the remaining £16m that is owed by City in exchange for the Ivorian.
Bony joined City for £28m in January 2015 but has failed to establish himself in the starting XI and has been overtaken by Kelechi Iheanacho in the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium.
The Nigerian starlet has burst onto the scene this campaign and netted 14 goals in all competitions – six more than Bony.
Having scored just 10 goals in 46 appearances, 27-year-old Bony is set to be one of many casualties in the summer exodus at the Sportscity campus, with incoming manager Pep Guardiola looking to reinvigorate the Sky Blues’ aging squad.
