Who is City’s worst signing since 2008?
Since Sheikh Mansour took over Manchester City in 2008, the club have signed some of the world’s greatest players. The likes of David Silva, Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and Yaya Toure have all provided many memorable moments in a blue shirt and have played an integral part in the club’s successes.
However, unfortunately, City made a number of especially poor signings, so with our new duel feature we’ve given you the opportunity to vote for City’s worst signing since 2008
All you have to do is go through the duels, selecting your ‘winner’ (worst signing) from each match up. That winner continues into the next duel, to be pitted against a new poor City signing. If he’s still your winner, select again. If not, choose the other person in the duel. It’s as easy as that!

Jo
He just wasn’t very good at football, was he?
Roque Santa Cruz
This man’s City career didn’t really going even though Mark Hughes was unbelievably keen on bringing him to the club from Blackburn.
Tal Ben Haim
How did this bloke play for Manchester City?
Scott Sinclair
In 2012/13, as well as Jack Rodwell, City brought in another Englishman in the form of Swansea’s Scott Sinclair. He barely made a start for the club and now plays for bottom club Aston Villa.
Jack Rodwell
Having arrived from Everton for £12 million in 2012/13, Jack Rodwell showed glimpses at City but was riddled with injuries.
Jerome Boateng
Came in a summer that also saw City snap up Yaya Toure and David Silva. Annoyingly, he has been an impressive performer for Bayern Munich but never got going at City.
Maicon
Another signing in the dreadful 2012/13 summer window. A good player in his prime, but was over the hill by the time he joined City.
Eliaquim Mangala
The Frenchman still his time on his side to eventually turn into a competent defender but it’s hard to understand why City forked out £40m on Mangala.
Bruno Zuculini
The Argentine has showed promise in pre-season but has had a number of disappointing loan spells at the club and already looks to have no future at City.
Stefan Savic
The Montenegrin has emerged into a steady defender with Atletico Madrid but he was utterly atrocious at City. One cup semi-final with Liverpool springs to mind.
Wilfried Bony
It was hoped that Wilfried Bony would be a great foil for Sergio Aguero after a £28 million move from Swansea. But he’s failed to live up to his billing and hasn’t provided the goods in attack.
