Manchester City will complete the signing of striker Vitinho in the coming days after offering him an ‘unreal’ deal, according to UOL.

The 16-year-old was on a 10-day trial with the Citizens last year when he was playing for Brazilian side Corinthians but has now left the Time do Povo and is available on a free transfer.

During his trial, Vitinho scored in a friendly win over Newcastle and impressed scouts working for the two-time Premier League champions.

Sky Blues fans, however, should not expect to see the Brazilian in first-team action until 2018 because, under contractual laws, he is not allowed to appear in the senior squad until he is 18 years of age. Laws also prevent City from offering Vitinho more than a three-year contract.

Corinthians released an official statement confirming that there was an offer on the table for the player, but they did not expect him to remain in Brazil.
